Yawn yawn yawn (again!)

Yet another Worm utilises a hole in Windows to wreak havoc on the world. Same old story as ever. Why do people put up with this crap??

Don't get me wrong I do use an Apple Mac & love it but I don't think that the answer is for everyone to switch from Windows to Macs or to Linux either. Apple themselves issued a security patch this week for OS X the difference though is that nobody hates Mac OS X enough to try and destroy it!

The other crucial difference is that half the world isn't reliant on Apple technology they are reliant on Microsofts. So when there is a vulnerability in Microsofts technology the vast majority of the world is affected!

The only viable solution is for individuals & organisations to move away from what is termed the 'Microsoft Mono Culture' & to embrace open standards across a variety of platforms. So my message is this : use Mac OS X, use Linux, use UNIX, use Solaris, use ZETA hey even use Amiga OS4 if it floats your boat. But whatever you do don't rely on a single system.

What is it they say about putting all your eggs in one basket? One day they will all be smashed to pieces :p
